World Obesity Day: Let's talk about obesity

This is an old post.

ORANJESTAD - March 4 marks World Obesity Day.

The theme of World Obesity Day this year is "Change Perspective: Let's talk about obesity." It reminds us to continue with prevention to achieve a healthier Aruba.
The Ministry of Health and partners such as DVG-Health Promotions, the Health Platform, the Healthy Lifestyle Center, Ibisa, Jump18, and Cool2BFit are committed to prevention. This theme aligns with the vision of the Ministry of Health on preventive healthcare. By encouraging discussions on this topic, removing stigmas, and dispelling misconceptions, the goal is to create a society that understands all the issues associated with obesity.

Obesity is not just a personal struggle but a social challenge that jointly we can overcome. The Ministry of Health is implementing policies that promote a healthy lifestyle, make accessible healthcare possible for everyone, and encourage a community that supports each other in this fight. The focus is on prevention, and by working together, we can make significant progress in the fight against obesity.

It is encouraged for all citizens to take care of themselves, share their stories, and support each other on the path to a healthier future. As a community, we must raise awareness, strive for change, and exchange knowledge to create an environment that promotes well-being for everyone.

A healthier society starts with each of us making conscious decisions for our health. Together, we must work towards an Aruba where preventive healthcare is not just a strategy but a way of life.
