Tourism figures for November 2024
ORANJESTAD – Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) continues to focus on improving and maintaining efforts to achieve balance based on the "High Value-Low Impact" model.
This model is built on four pillars:
- Quality of Life for Residents;
- Quality of Experience for Visitors;
- Protection and Preservation of Nature & Environment;
- Economic Contribution to Our Island.
The focus is on attracting visitors who invest more but are also conscious and value Aruba's culture, nature, people, and economy.
Statistics Based on Updates in the Tourism Industry:
Stayover Volume: There was an additional positive growth of 0.9% in November 2024 compared to November 2023.
The expectation is that airlines will expand capacity to enable Aruba to meet this demand. In November 2024, Aruba welcomed 106,938. stayover visitors, an increase of 0.9% compared to the 105,946 visitors in November 2023
Markets and Accommodation Categories
In November 2024, 78.4% of stayover visitors came from North America, 5.6% from Europe, 13.1% from Latin America, and 2.8% from other parts of the world.
Of the visitors, 24.4% stayed in European Plan hotels, 16.2% in all-inclusive hotels, 26.4% in timeshares, and 32.9% in other accommodations types, including short-term vacation rentals (STVR).
Short-Term Vacation Rentals (STVR)
A.T.A. has access to a platform where the number of houses, apartments, and villas used for vacation rentals, as well as the average price per night, occupancy rate, and estimated revenues, can be monitored. In 2023, A.T.A. updated the inventory of existing and under-construction condominiums and the list of lodging options that are not hotels but are available for short-term stays by tourists visiting Aruba.
The average occupancy rate of STVR accommodations increased by 3.9%, from an average of 50.8% in November 2023 to 54.7% in November 2024. In terms of revenue, a comparison between November 2023 and November 2024 shows a decline in this category.
2024 (Year to Date)
As of November 2024, Aruba received 1,293,446 stayover visitors, a growth of 14.4% compared to the 1,131,099 visitors by November 2023. Of these visitors, 79.9% came from North America, 4.9% from Europe, 12.7% from Latin America, and 2.6% from other parts of the world.
