Three police officers honored for their bravery and effort

ORANJESTAD – The Police Commissioner Drs. Ramon Arnhem recently called upon three colleagues, Meye, Stamper, and Dorothal, to receive their certificate, known as the "oorkonde," in recognition of their utmost effort and bravery.

They acted immediately, with determination and without hesitation.
In December, a young man got into trouble in the sea at Mangel Halto. The San Nicolas and Traffic units were dispatched, and the mentioned officers were the first to arrive. Seeing the emergency, they immediately took action and began resuscitating the young man while waiting for the ambulance.

Working as a team under coordination, the officers persisted in their resuscitation efforts until the end. The ambulance later took over and transported the young man to the hospital, but unfortunately, he passed away.
For these three officers, it was a difficult moment to witness a young person fighting for his life. However, their swift action demonstrated their dedication to trying everything possible without hesitation.

For this reason, Chief Commissioner Arnhem saw the importance of honoring these three police officers with the highest title of gratitude, the "oorkonde." This document adds extra value to their police careers.

Police Chief Arnhem thanked them for going the extra mile to assist the young man when the ambulance was on its way, doing everything possible to give him another chance at life.
