The Sero Colorado Memorial project is about to start.

ORANJESTAD – The outgoing Minister of Tourism and Public Health, Dangui Oduber, recently announced that the Sero Colorado Memorial project is ready to begin soon.

As part of the tourism policy and preservation of Aruba's history, a collaboration began in early 2023 with the Aruba Outdoor Amenities Commission, the Ministry of Infrastructure, and the Tourism Product Enhancement Fund (TPEF) to pursue the vision of preserving and restoring the island's heritage.

They have planned a project within this framework to preserve and enhance the area surrounding the World War II bunker at Sero Colorado.

The project includes restoring the parking facilities in the area, beautifying the surroundings, and introducing a memorial area where locals and tourists can read and learn more about its history. It will focus on its history, including the ammunition bunker, lighthouse, and their roles during World War II.

This is another project in preparation for several months and is now ready to begin. Work starts soon and will take a few months to complete.

Be mindful of the area during the construction phase.
