The prime minister warns about a scam circulating on social media.

ORANJESTAD – There has been a scam going around on social media that says Aruba residents may get a lot of money through an investment scheme connected to a company, "PrimeAurora."

It is entirely false, and the Aruban authorities and cybersecurity experts are investigating this scam.

Anyone who engages with this fraudulent offer risks losing their money. Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes emphasizes that the Government of Aruba has no involvement in this criminal act and that there is no legal basis for it within the financial institutions of our country.
The message circulating suggests that if a person invests AWG 200, they can receive regular payments and a tax refund of AWG 6,500. It is a scam that promotes easy money, and some social media users have already fallen for it.

The advice for the community is to remain vigilant and avoid falling for dubious financial offers or internet sites that promise quick money.
The advice is to report any suspicious offers on social media.
The source of this scam appears to originate from the local news platform Aruba Today, but the website name does not match the official Aruba Today platform. It is a detail that internet users should be aware of to verify the authenticity of information.

It is essential to keep up with financial developments through the correct channels, including the relevant authorities, our national television station, local radio stations, local newspapers, the government's official website, and social media pages.

If you come across a link and have doubts, do not open it; report the link on the relevant platform; if you are unsure, ask a family member or friend. Educate your friends and family about the dangers of online scams, especially online. Analyze the message, and if the offer seems unrealistic and does not come from a reliable source but promises easy money without working for it, it is most likely a scam.
