The majority of ZorgPas cards will expire in 2025. Use the AZV app or a valid ID.
ORANJESTAD – The bulk of ZorgPas cards will expire in 2025, according to AZV, which advises insured people to use the AZV app or a legitimate ID.
AZV introduced the AZV card, also known as the "ZorgPas" or plastic card, in December 2019.
Since December 2019, AZV introduced the AZV card (the plastic card), also known as the "ZorgPas". In our administration, we see that many clients are still using the physical ZorgPas.
My card did expire.
AZV informs all insured individuals possessing a ZorgPas with an expiration date of 2025 that they will not issue new cards when the plastic card expires.
Now it is easier. Download the AZV app and use your digital ZorgPas (digiZorgPas) through the app.
What is my responsibility?
As an AZV-insured person, you must be able to prove that you have a valid AZV policy. To display your digiZorgPas, always ensure that you have access to your AZV app.
If you do not have a mobile phone or Wi-Fi when visiting a medical institution, you can also show a valid ID (passport, ID card, or driver's license) to facilitate the process. Based on your valid ID, the care provider can verify if you are insured with AZV and if your policy is valid.
What is the responsibility of the care provider?
The care provider is in charge of ensuring that a "legitimate" AZV client receives each service.
They use a dedicated web portal to accomplish this. Through the portal, they can check your data and the validity of your policy. Using your digiZorgPas or valid ID, the provider confirms your identity and insurance status.
Download the AZV app.
If you do not have the AZV app yet, you can download and install it on your phone. You can also add your children or a family member to your digiZorgPas. On the AZV website, you can consult several instructional videos.
