The Governor receives visit from the senior researcher in criminal and procedural law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Aruba.
ORANJESTAD - On Friday morning, February 7, the Governor of Aruba, His Excellency Alfonso Boekhoudt, spoke with Mr. Dr. Ruth Bonnevalle-Kok, senior researcher in criminal and procedural law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Aruba.
She was accompanied during the audience by Mr. Aaron Croes, Mrs. Christina de Freijtas and Mrs. Jerianne Tiel, all third-year students at the bachelor's program of the Faculty of Law.
The visit was dedicated to the formal presentation of the new Code of Criminal Procedure, which came into effect on April 1, 2024. This publication contains the continuous text of the Code of Criminal Procedure and is provided with a table of contents and terms for the text of the law. The edited version of the code was compiled by Mrs. Bonnevalle-Kok with the cooperation of eight student assistants and was drawn up for the benefit of both education at the Faculty of Law and legal practice, such as the Court of First Instance of Aruba, the Public Prosecution Service of Aruba, and the Bar Association of Aruba.
