The Government and CAAM-HP signed a MOU

ORANJESTAD - On Friday, November 3, 2023, the Government of Aruba and The Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and Other Health Professions (CAAMP-HP) signed an agreement to appoint CAAMP-HP to accredit medical schools that establish themselves in Aruba to ensure the quality and level of education.

Aruba has several medical faculties that prepare students for the initial phase of their exams in the United States.

The American body that oversees the quality of medical education outside the United States, namely the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), determined that in 2024, faculties seeking ECFMG certification must be accredited by institutions recognized by or on behalf of the ECFMG.

CAAM-HP is one of the institutions recognized by the ECFMG and can evaluate the education curriculum and accredit medical faculties. Medical faculties find it easier to establish themselves in Aruba because of CAAM-HP's location in the region.

The MOU between the Government and CAAM-HP expands the possibilities for accrediting medical faculties and thus ensuring their level of education.
