Students departed for the Netherlands.

ORANJESTAD - After months of anticipation and preparation, the big moment arrived for parents to bid farewell to their children at the airport, preparing to board the plane to the Netherlands to continue their studies.

A total of 247 scholarships were awarded for further studies. In total, 207 students will continue their studies in the Netherlands, of which 118 received the Arubalening Reis Product. These are the ones who took the organized flights.

On Sunday, August 4, the first group of 58 scholarship students departed on a KLM flight to the Netherlands. It was the group that will live in Amsterdam, Arnhem, Den Bosch, Dronten, Enschede, Maastricht, Sittard, Nijmegen, Rotterdam, Tilburg, Utrecht, Wageningen, and Zwolle.
On Monday, August 5, 60 scholarship students boarded the plane to the Netherlands and continued to their respective cities, namely Breda, Delft, The Hague, Eindhoven, Gouda, Groningen, Leeuwarden, or Leiden.

In addition to the students who departed for the Netherlands, several students decided to continue their studies in another country. Nineteen students using the Study Facilities Section will continue their studies in the United States, 7 in Canada, 5 in Curaçao, 4 in Spain, and 1 in Puerto Rico. Additionally, 65 students chose to continue their studies at the University of Aruba, IPA, or EPI.

Not all students going to the Netherlands to continue their studies use the Arubalening. There is no information on how many students went to the Netherlands without this student loan. Nonetheless, twenty-five students approached Arubahuis to participate in the reception week, and five traveled on the organized flight.

One of the most common challenges students face abroad is housing. Most local students found a room. Some still need a room, but the expectation is that they will get one soon.

On behalf of the Department of Education and Study Facilities, the Aruban government wishes every student the best of luck as they take this significant step forward.
