Prime Minister presents Annual Report for the 7th consecutive year.

ORANJESTAD – On March 13, outgoing Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes announced the publication of the 2024 Annual Report of the Ministry of the Prime Minister. This marks the seventh consecutive year that the annual report has been presented.

The annual report provides a general overview of the Cabinet’s work, initiatives, achievements, and commitments. According to the Prime Minister, the 2024 Annual Report serves as a handover to the people of Aruba, summarizing everything accomplished over the past seven and a half years.

The 2024 Annual Report begins with an introduction in which the Prime Minister highlights Aruba’s resilience and progress, emphasizing economic recovery, integrity, and sustainability. It also underlines efforts in transparency, anti-corruption, and social development; as well as the commitment to improving the quality of life for the community.

The Ministry of the Prime Minister consists of four portfolios, each playing a fundamental role in Aruba’s governance: General Affairs, Innovation, Government Organization, and Infrastructure & Spatial Planning.

  • General Affairs: This extensive chapter covers the Governance Agreement, Reforms, Kingdom Relations as well as Foreign Relations and the crisis in South America. It also discusses Legislation, DWJZ, National Security, Veiligheidshuis, and the Crisis Management Office. Other sections cover the Ombudsman, Communication, and committees established by the Prime Minister, such as the Action Committee for Dog Regulation and the National Autism Commission.
  • Innovation: This section relates to the Directorate for Innovation, reporting on Futura, EduTech, and e-Government.
  • Government Organization: This part discusses the Department of Human Resources, Personnel Expenses, Internal Services Bureau (BID), CENSO, MFA, and the Administrative Assistance Office.

The 2024 Annual Report presents each portfolio’s work, developments, and efforts in four structured chapters, each reflecting the commitment to transparent governance, sustainable progress, and improvement of the quality of life for the Aruban people.
