Police will continue to monitor alcohol sales.
ORANJESTAD – The Santa Cruz District Police recently began conducting various controls, including on VAPE products and the sale of alcohol to underage individuals.
They collected information and noted that some supermarkets do not comply with the law regarding alcohol sales.
During inspections at different supermarkets, the police observed that they did not place alcohol in their designated area, for which they got a first warning.
The Police Corps urges all supermarkets to monitor and adhere to the hours stipulated on their alcohol sales permit. The latest time they can sell alcohol legally is 9:00 PM. It must also be kept in a separate section within the supermarket.
It is prohibited to place alcohol together with other products such as cheese, soda, fruit, etc.
KPA is sending a message of awareness to all supermarkets to help prevent an undesired and high penalty.
