Opening "Residencia Blenchi": An important step for senior housing in Aruba
ORANJESTAD - Recently, the Fundacion Cas Pa Comunidad Arubano (FCCA) announced the official inauguration of their latest housing project, Residencia Blenchi, an apartment complex intended for seniors aged 55 and older.
The ceremony took place on May 24, 2024, at Boegoeroei 11-Z.
The need for accessible and affordable housing is rapidly growing in our community, with a significant portion consisting of seniors. According to FCCA's information, approximately 49% of people on their waiting list are over 55 years old, and 79% of this group is requesting a one-bedroom apartment. Since the project involves renovating a student apartment complex, FCCA was able to convert it relatively quickly and at a reasonable cost into 48 one-bedroom apartments.
It is not the first project that FCCA has dedicated to this group in our community. It also carried out similar projects in Savaneta, Cunucu Abou, Paradera (Santa Filomena), Avicena Street, and Jaburibari. Residencia Blenchi offers the opportunity to expand the housing supply and has facilities to provide residents with a peaceful and pleasant lifestyle.
Ms. Julie Wever, Technical and Commercial Director of FCCA, expressed her gratitude to everyone who contributed to the project's success. "We could not have achieved this goal without the efforts of all the stakeholders, such as the contractor and his team, and the employees at FCCA. You are the foundation of our success, and for that reason, we are extremely grateful."
FCCA was established in 1979 and offers financial and real estate services, like mortgage financing, land sales, and property rentals. The foundation's mission is to develop and build accessible, efficient, and durable housing to meet the social housing demand in our community. In the 45 years of their existence, they have helped more than 20,000 families achieve homeownership.
