Neighborhood Police receive new Police vehicles.

ORANJESTAD – Recently, in the presence of Chief of Police Ramon Arnhem and Minister of Justice Rocco TJon, Yrausquin & Sons delivered four Mitsubishi XPander 2025 vehicles.

These four vehicles are a step toward the new direction that the Neighborhood Police will take. The vehicles have the same design as the Police Force vehicles, with the added word "Bario" (Neighborhood).

For Chief of Police Arnhem, this represents a new image for the Neighborhood Police department. The Neighborhood Police are changing their image, investing both in material resources and the education of the personnel. Recently, a group of Neighborhood Police officers completed a Community Oriented Policing course provided by Miami Dade College and a Wijkagent (Community Police Officer) training provided by the Dutch Police Academy.

The new vehicles are already on the road and ready for the Neighborhood Police personnel to use. Each district has received a “Bario” vehicle to allow them to perform their work more optimally.
