More than 3000 people are waiting for a house.

This is an old post.

ORANJESTAD – Recently, Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes, and the Minister of Finance and Culture, Xiomara Maduro, had a meeting with the executives of FCCA.

During this meeting, they discussed the housing needs in Aruba, particularly social housing, discussed.

In 1979, the FCCA (Fundacion Cas pa Comunidad Arubano) was established to help the government build houses and social housing so that everyone in Aruba could have a roof over their heads.

The demand for housing is high; more than 3000 people are waiting for a house, and the FCCA cannot meet this demand. Given Aruba's financial position, the government has room to create and allocate funds to the FCCA to build new housing. Work is underway on an agreement to build minimally 200 houses each year to meet the existing needs.
