Ministry of Transport organizes informational sessions for new taxi drivers.
ORANJESTAD - Recently, the outgoing Minister of Transport, Integrity, Nature, and Elderly Affairs, Ursell Arends, together with several relevant departments and organizations, held an informational session for those who recently obtained a new taxi permit.
This session is part of efforts to provide guidance, knowledge, and the necessary tools to operate as a responsible entrepreneur. During the session, representatives from the Department of Public Transport, the Aruba Certification Program, the Aruba Conservation Foundation, RBC, and the Ministry of Transport shared information on essential topics that taxi drivers need to know.
Topics presented included, among others:
- The demand for taxi services during nighttime hours;
- The responsibility to comply with tax obligations;
- Participation in the Aruba Certification Program;
- Dress code;
- Driving behavior and current laws;
- The possibility of arranging a pension with PFTSA.
This informational session aims to prepare taxi drivers to operate properly and provide quality service. This initiative focuses on strengthening the taxi sector as an essential pillar of our tourist transport system through transparent management.
