Ministry of Culture invites the public to celebrate Betico Day

ORANJESTAD - On January 25, we celebrate Betico Day in honor of the birth anniversary of Mr. Gilberto François 'Betico' Croes", the great statesman, politician, teacher, and beloved leader.

On this day, various activities will take place in Aruba, and as customary on January 24 and 25, homage will be paid to Betico Croes at Plaza Betico Croes.

Cultural event at Plaza Betico
On January 24, the Cultural Event will start at 6:00 PM with a presentation of the "Caha di Orgel", a culinary fair, sweet treats, and crafts. At 8:00 PM, the official program begins with the Aruban national anthem, followed by a speech by Minister Maduro of Culture. The program continues with singing, dancing, and music performances. There will be presentations by the Colegio Arubano Ensemble, followed by an orchestra concert under the direction of conductor Dwight Leonetta, featuring various local artists singing songs dedicated to Betico Croes.
On January 25, on Betico Day, the public is invited to the protocol ceremony at Plaza Betico, where Prime Minister Wever-Croes will deliver a speech. The morning begins at 9:00 AM with singing, poetry, and dance by children in honor of  Betico Croes. Additionally, there will be a floral tribute at the statue of our Liberator.
Minister of Finance and Culture, Xiomara Maduro, invites the entire community to come to Plaza Betico Croes on January 24 and 25. Betico loved Aruba and dedicated a significant part of his life to pursuing the well-being of the people of Aruba. Let's give Betico the honor he deserves; let's celebrate his legacy.
