Minister of Culture congratulates Clarette Quandus on her new book "Tradition di Fin di Aña"
ORANJESTAD - Outgoing Minister of Finance and Culture Xiomara Maduro was present at the National Library to congratulate poet and writer Clarette Quandus on her latest publication, "Tradicion di Fin di Aña."
"Tradicion di Fin di Aña" covers the history of the origin of the San Juan Festival and Dande singing in Aruba, especially in the district of Savaneta. Through various interviews that Clarette conducted with family and acquaintances of those actively involved in these celebrations, we can now enjoy a book that tells, preserves, and honors the history of Aruba and its people.
Minister Maduro thanks Clarette for documenting Aruba's customs and the people who keep these alive in our beloved Papiamento language.
