May 2024: Another record for tourism in Aruba

ORANJESTAD – the Aruba Tourism Authority recently shared the tourism data for the first five months of 2024. 

May 2024 ended with a growth trend and high demand for Aruba as a destination.
In May 2024, Aruba welcomed 111,180 visitors, which represents a growth of 16.6%. In the first five months of 2024 (Jan-May 2024), visitors grew by 18.7% compared to the first five months of 2023. The best year in Aruba's tourism history is 2023.

Our principal market, the North American market, registered a growth of 17% in the first five months of 2024 compared to 2023. Tourists are satisfied with Aruba and rate the "Guest Experience" with a 9.0 out of 10. The highest-rated category is ambiance, with a 9.4 out of 10 score.

During the first quarter of 2024, tourists spent an average of $666 per person. It is measured based on their Visa credit card expenses, which recorded $185,095,875 in the Aruban economy.
During the first five months of 2024, 31% of stayover tourists stayed in vacation rentals. It is a reason to regulate this sector as soon as possible.

The Ministry of Tourism is pleased that Aruba remains a high-demand destination in the Caribbean and that its management is bearing fruit.
