Safety tips for all Dutch citizens or residents of Aruba who are in Florida during the passage of Hurricane Milton
ORANJESTAD – The effects of Hurricane Milton are already impacting parts of the state of Florida in the USA with heavy rain and strong winds.
In the coming hours, the impact of the hurricane is expected to increase and can cause catastrophic damage in Central Florida on Wednesday.
An urgent request goes out to all persons with Dutch nationality and residents of Aruba, who are in Florida, to follow the local news and strictly follow the authorities in Florida instructions.
Important Tips:
- Follow the instructions of local authorities: All provinces have emergency and shelter plans for mandatory evacuations.
- Storm Surge Risk: Florida's West Coast is facing high storm surge risk and will continue to do so. Evacuations are already taking place.
- Powerful winds and power outages: the greatest impact is expected in the area from Tampa to Orlando, with powerful winds and possible power outages.
