Healthy School Aruba with training for Healthy School Advisors and Healthy School Coordinators.

ORANJESTAD – During the week of March 10 to 14, 2025, Healthy School Aruba organized a training program for Healthy School Advisors and Healthy School Coordinators.

Professionals from various government departments participated in this training, including the Public Health Department Youth Health Care and Health Promotion sections and the Department of Social Affairs. Additionally, a group of teachers from different schools, currently in the process of becoming a Healthy School, also participated. It included Movement and Health teachers, fellow teachers, Internal Counselors, and/or school leaders. The training was held at the Department of Public Health and in the MFR hall of the Department of Education.

Participants received intensive training on the Healthy Schools concept, including an in-depth exploration of the steps involved in the Healthy School process.
Consequently, more Healthy School Advisors will be on hand to mentor and counsel schools on their path to becoming a Healthy School.
The Healthy School Coordinators acquired the skills and knowledge necessary to implement Healthy School activities within their schools.

Dr. Swinda Dumfries, coordinator of the Healthy School Advisors team, extends gratitude to the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Social Affairs for their cooperation in making these training days possible.
