In 2017, a delegation from the German-Dutch Chamber of Commerce approached the government to organize this energy conference in Aruba, and held since its inception every November. The participants are a group of commercial experts who are interested and enthusiastic about doing business in Aruba.

Climate change threatens small islands like Aruba and affects their economy, but more importantly, the beaches, coral reefs, and ecosystems. These are of great value to tourists and are the heart of our country.

Aruba's direct experience of the effects of climate change underscores the devastating consequences. The government recognizes the risk of Aruba's dependence on fossil fuels and is committed to transitioning to clean energy.

The government envisions the energy transition not just as an infrastructure policy but as a social transformation deeply rooted in the dreams and hopes of every citizen. In alignment with the sustainable development goals of the United Nations, Aruba will adopt a holistic approach to progress. Every initiative to achieve clean energy, every conservation effort, and every carbon reduction endeavor paves the way for a sustainable future.
