Fitch Ratings upgrades Aruba’s rating to investment grade

ORANJESTAD -  Fitch Ratings recently informed the government that they upgraded Aruba’s rating to investment grade. This rating signals to investors and tourists that Aruba is a country where their investments are secure.

Fitch Ratings executives visited Aruba at the start of February 2025 to perform an economic and financial assessment of our nation.

They met with various stakeholders and institutions, including the outgoing Minister of Finance and Culture, Xiomara Maduro. She informed them about the financial management undertaken to improve public finances, leave behind the budget deficit, and create fiscal space within a surplus to reduce debt, make necessary investments, and build a buffer to face potential financial challenges.

Since the reputable firms Standard and Poor's, Moody's, and now Fitch Ratings, give Aruba an investment grade, this announcement is crucial for the island nation.
