February started with 122,149 visitors

ORANJESTAD - Tourism in Aruba continues to grow and surpasses the figures for 2023. 

In January 2024, tourism exceeded the levels of the same month in 2023, while February 2024 opened with 122,149 visitors to Aruba. Aruba received a total of 128,386 cruise tourists, which represents a growth of 7.32% compared to the same month in 2023. 

Aruba remains a favorite destination for many visitors. The results show that in February 2024, Aruba received 49 cruise ships, representing a growth of 4.26%. Tourists continue to be satisfied with Aruba and rate the "Guest Experience" with a 9.0. 

In 2023, the economic impact of short-term rentals began to be measured. This impact is measured with an Average Daily Rate (ADR) of $284 and an Occupancy Rate of 78.2%, resulting in revenues of $22,005,276 for February 2024. The results show that tourists spent an average of $690 per person in our economy in 2023. Revenues from short-term vacation rentals in Aruba have significantly increased to $217,225,200. 

The top 3 nationalities of tourists who spent the most in our economy are American, Dutch, and Chilean. ATA measured the impact by the categories in which tourists spend the most: Restaurant: 31%, Hotel: 24%, Retail: 27%, and Transport: 7%. 

Considering the performance in February 2024, we can conclude that quality tourists continue to come to Aruba, confirming that the policies of the Ministry of Tourism are yielding results. Thanks to everyone working in the tourism sector. Our greatest asset remains our beloved residents of Aruba.
