Documentary "Uní in Carnival"

ORANJESTAD - On Monday, November 6, 2023, the National Library of Aruba will organize a cultural evening dedicated to the start of the Carnival season.

This event is a collaboration of the Cultural Historical Foundation Bonaire with the Department of Culture Aruba and cultural expert Mirto Laclé. 

At 6:00 pm, they will present the documentary "Uní in Carnival," which focuses on Carnival in all six Dutch Caribbean islands. The documentary is a recording produced in 2022 on all six Dutch Caribbean islands, where different individuals elaborated on the celebration of Carnival on their respective islands.

Researchers and organizers will provide their opinions, as well as the necessary information for understanding

the vital need of the inhabitants of the Dutch Caribbean islands to express their passion through Carnival.

The documentary is a production by FuHiKuBo under the direction of Boi Antoine from Bonaire.

The production of the documentary has been financed by Archipel.eu (European Union) and co-financed by the Overseas Countries and Territories Association (OCTA), Institut Français, and APCA.

Musician Loyd Baptist will delight the audience with some calypso and Carnival music. Boi Antoine will be present and will answer questions from the audience related to the documentary.
