ATA and Qredits agree to extend the Aruba Signature Experience until 2027.
ORANJESTAD – Recently, the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) and Qredits Aruba signed a new agreement to continue the Aruba Signature Experience program for the next three years.
This collaboration reaffirms the commitment to supporting new businesses and local entrepreneurs while continuing to develop niche tourism.
The Aruba Signature Experience began in 2021, right after the pandemic, as a joint initiative by ATA and Qredits Aruba to help local entrepreneurs and start-ups and to develop and promote unique and valuable experiences for visitors to our island.
Over the past three years, the program has successfully helped small and new businesses enter the tourism industry by providing necessary guidance and support while enriching the visitor experience with authentic activities and services. The 11 winners of the Aruba Signature Experience have introduced unique and immersive services and experiences that emphasize our cultural heritage, nature, wellness, and romance.
This year, the agreement includes a significant expansion: the program will no longer be open only to businesses that offer unique experiences or services but also to local artisans. This expansion aligns with ATA's vision to promote cultural tourism and support our artisans and creative entrepreneurs.
There are two ways in which entrepreneurs and artisans can qualify for the Aruba Signature Experience:
- Participation in the Small Business Academy of Qredits Aruba, where participants receive structured and intensive guidance over 10 weeks to set up a business. The cost for this is Afl. 350.
- Following a screening process, companies that submit direct financing applications to Qredits Aruba may be chosen to participate in the Aruba Signature Experience. The idea or business must focus on eco-tourism, cultural tourism, romance, or personal wellness.
At the end of the program, the Aruba Signature Experience will select a maximum of five winners who will receive full support from ATA and Qredits Aruba. It includes financial support, assistance with marketing and branding, and strategic coaching for business development. Interested parties must register by May 1, 2025, for the Small Business Academy, which starts on May 7.
Ronella Croes of ATA is happy to continue this collaboration with Qredits Aruba, as it will provide opportunities for our artists and local entrepreneurs. It enhances Aruba's reputation as a vacation spot known for its unique experiences.
Nathaly Harms, Branch Representative of Qredits Aruba, emphasized that Qredits Aruba is committed to supporting small businesses, new entrepreneurs, and start-ups by providing the necessary tools to be successful. This partnership with ATA is essential since more entrepreneurs and artisans can turn their vision into reality, benefiting the local economy and Aruba’s tourism.
