A.T.A. and APA attend the FCCA Conference 2024 in Sint Maarten.
ORANJESTAD—Aruba's delegation recently attended the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) 2024 conference in Sint Maarten.
This conference, which Sint Maarten is hosting for the third time, offers a special chance to network with executives in the cruise sector, look into new prospects, and get an update on the state of cruise tourism in the area.
The Aruban delegation included representatives of the Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) Destination Services Manager Sr. Patrick Melchiors and Cruise Manager Sra. Monica Bos participated in dialogues to highlight the unique offers that Aruba has to offer to cruise guests. Also, the delegation consisted of representatives of Aruba Ports Authority (APA) CEO Sr. Marc Figaroa and Chief Commercial Officer Sr. Mario Arends, who joined the A.T.A. in strategic meetings that focus on building sustainable relationships and strengthening Aruba's positioning in the cruise market. This event connects key people from major cruise lines and accessibility across the cruise sector in the Caribbean.
The FCCA Conference is a Flagship Event that brings together cruise executives and representatives of different destinations. It facilitates direct interaction through various meetings, such as networking events and workshops on sustainable tourism, destination amplification, and the growth strategy of luxury cruise tourism to Aruba.
By exchanging ideas, Aruba's delegation established relationships that would help the island's cruise sector for years to come and positioned the island as a dynamic travel destination emphasizing visitors.
The event included various activities, including more than 940 in-person meetings between cruise and destination executives, an increase of 34% compared to 2023. New elements, such as the exclusive Presidents Dinner, were introduced, where industry leaders met with destination partners to form connections and share business development. Workshops and presentations took place on topics such as increasing the guest experience, creating successful tour products, and achieving long-term sustainability goals.
