A.T.A. and AAA Announce Non-Stop Flight with GOL Airlines

ORANJESTAD - The Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) and Aruba Airport Authority (AAA) have announced and celebrated the introduction of the direct flight between São Paulo, Brazil, and Aruba in the presence of the international press, industry leaders, and partners.

This significant achievement strengthens the tourist and economic ties between the two countries.

Carlos Barbosa of A.T.A. Brazil discussed the positive impact of direct flights, the importance of this new route, and the long-term relationship between Brazil and Aruba. Brazil is one of the primary markets in Latin America for Aruba, with an expected growth of 40% in 2025 compared to 2024. Ronella Croes, CEO of A.T.A., emphasized the strategy to attract "High Value" visitors, the importance of diversification in this context, and the growth of the Brazilian market, which had an average annual growth of 14.7% between 2011 and 2023. Furthermore, the Brazilian market is one of the markets that spend the most during their vacation in Aruba, making Brazil a key market. This market accounts for an average stay of 6.3 nights, and according to a 2023 VISA research, the Brazilian visitor has a spending pattern averaging 843 dollars per day. It means that Brazil is the second-largest market in terms of spending in Aruba.

For Queen Beatrix International Airport, it is essential to have aviation partners, such as GOL, an airline with a strong presence in the large Brazilian market and great potential for Aruba. Jo-Anne Meaux-Arends, Aviation Business Development Executive of AAA, expressed pride in securing the direct route from São Paulo, Brazil, to Aruba, which will benefit both the local population and visitors.

A.T.A. LATAM aims to make Aruba the preferred destination for Brazilian visitors. The non-stop flight from Brazil to Aruba, A.T.A. LATAM consolidates this position, according to Jordan Schlipken Croes, Area Director of A.T.A. Latin America.

With increased investment in marketing, instrumental actions with GOL, and those selling Aruba in the market, along with these visits, meetings, and key events, Aruba reiterates its commitment. It continues to create "momentum" in the market.
