Aruban Petroleum Company signs with Andicuri Oil & Gas Exploration VBA.

ORANJESTAD - On May 31, 2024, the ceremony took place for the signing of the contract between Compania Arubano di Petroleo (CAP) and Andicuri Oil & Gas Exploration VBA (AOGX), a local subsidiary of Armstrong International LLC (AI), for the exploration, development, and production of hydrocarbons in the maritime area of Aruba.

Armstrong International LLC has an exceptional history in exploration and already discovered several enormous oil fields. The company has conducted all its research and concluded that various oil and gas fields around Aruba interest them. They have made all the necessary investments to obtain all the data for these investigations at their own expense. In the next 18 months, Armstrong International LLC will continue its studies and begin drilling to see if it can find anything in the territorial waters of Aruba.

A positive result from oil and gas exploration is significant because it could become an economic pillar for our economy. It will create many new jobs, strengthen our economy, and improve the government'scountry's position. One cannot solely depend on tourism, as it relies on external factors that can affect us, as seen recently with the COVID-19 pandemic. The government is making its utmost effort to make Aruba stronger and more resilient, and an important step is to diversify the economy.

This contract does not incur any costs for the government, but the company Andicuri will pay taxes and an annual sum of 375 thousand dollars to Compania Arubano di Petroleo, a state-owned company so that they can conduct exploration over the next 18 months. Aruba has nothing to lose with another attempt to find oil or gas. Armstrong International LLC will cover all exploration costs.
