Aruba Tourism Authority lights the torch to start the Carnival 71

ORANJESTAD - The Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA), as one of the official sponsors of Carnival, lit the ceremonial torch, marking the beginning of the first official activity of the 71st Carnival. Carnival is a tradition that serves as a vibrant cultural heritage of our island.

As part of its overall strategy, the ATA places great value on social, cultural, and recreational events, recognizing them as elements that enhance the experience for both residents and visitors. Carnival is considered one of the most significant cultural events on our island. It offers a unique experience where our community showcases its boundless creativity through costumes and music. An event that unites our community and invites our guests to join in, promoting a positive image of authentic cultural offerings.

The ATA has served as an international promoter of our Carnival since it was founded. Through various marketing channels, including fairs and international events, the ATA ensures that the magic of Carnival is shared with a global audience, securing its reputation as one of our most significant events.

Since Stichting Maneho di Aruba Carnaval (SMAC) took over the management of Carnival in 2014, the ATA has proudly served as an official sponsor. Before SMAC, the ATA supported the organization Stichting Arubaanse Carnaval (SAC). Both organizations meet the ATA’s criteria to ensure transparency and alignment of shared goals.

Every year, the ATA invests in our Carnival by supporting various aspects such as logistics and infrastructure, sponsoring events to promote local and guest participation, marketing campaigns to increase the international visibility of Carnival, and collaborative efforts with various local organizations to amplify our cultural narrative.
