This is an old post.

ORANJESTAD -  Aruba has been awarded the annual Internet Archive Hero Award from Internet Archive.

Internet Archive recognized with this award the work done by the innovative digital platform of the Aruba Collection.

Internet Archive is a free digital library that archives documents from the World Wide Web and makes them accessible to everyone worldwide. It is one of the largest and most significant digital libraries globally, containing a wide variety of information and material such as books, websites, videos, music, and much more.

Every year, Internet Archive grants the prestigious ‘Internet Archive Hero Award’ to those with exceptional leadership in making information digitally accessible worldwide. Internet Archive recognized Aruba’s innovative efforts in making its cultural heritage available online through the Aruba Collection and named the country of Aruba as the winner of this year’s ‘Internet Archive Hero Award.’

Coleccion.aw is a digital platform that provides users with information about our history and culture. It was created by the National Library of Aruba, the National Archives of Aruba, UNOCA, the National Archaeological Museum of Aruba, the Monuments Fund Foundation, Plantation Zorg en Hoop, and other governmental and non-governmental organizations. This award is a great incentive to continue working on the preservation of our culture and history.

Soon, the Minister of Finance and Culture Xiomara Maduro and representatives of the Aruba National Library and the Aruba National Archive will attend the Internet Archive celebration in San Francisco, California, to receive the prestigious Internet Archive Hero Award.
