Aruba has its own Operation Command Center.

ORANJESTAD - Multiple international polls by prominent tourism agencies have stated that Aruba is a safe island in the Caribbean.

It is thanks to the continuous efforts of the police department and other stakeholders tasked with guaranteeing safety for everyone.

The Ministry of Justice continuously invests in safety to maintain the classification as a safe destination. The Police Department recently opened the Operation Command Center, equipped with the latest surveillance technology in the region. This center will serve as police dispatch and as a radar room to observe the radars protecting the island. With this modern center, the Police Department can monitor the 258 cameras installed in the High-Rise Area Hotel, the Main Street in San Nicolas, and 40 other strategic locations around the island in real time.

The project of installing security cameras in public areas provides the justice department with an important tool to help resolve cases efficiently and effectively. It facilitates the police's duties on patrol by providing additional eyes to help intercept those with less good intentions and providing evidence of something that happened. It helps to fight and prevent crime by allowing the police to act swiftly.

Aruba is recovering, and community safety is always a priority for the government. Each investment in safety in Aruba contributes to a safe Aruba for all.
