Archbishop Jason Gordon was appointed as Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Willemstad.
Willemstad, Curaçao – The Diocese of Willemstad announces with gratitude and solemnity that the Holy See – Vatican has appointed Mgr. Jason Gordon, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, as Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Willemstad.
This appointment follows the retirement of Mgr. Luis Secco, our beloved Bishop, after many years of dedicated service and pastoral leadership.
The entire Diocese of Willemstad wishes to express its profound gratitude to Mgr. Luis Secco for his tireless dedication, pastoral care, and spiritual leadership during his service. His legacy of commitment, marked by his deep connection to the people of Curaçao, Bonaire, Aruba, Sint Maarten, Saba, and Sint Eustatius, will remain an inspiration for today's and future generations. We pray that God continues to bless his life and grant him prosperity in this new phase of his journey.
An apostolic administrator is a bishop appointed by the Holy See to assist with diocese governance and pastoral care during a transitional period. Mgr.
