All Dutch citizens in Haiti: Register with the information service
ORANJESTAD - Over the past few months, the government of Aruba and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands have been closely monitoring the events in Haiti.
The situation in Haiti continues to deteriorate and is particularly concerning in the capital, Port-au-Prince.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands urgently requests all Dutch citizens currently residing in Haiti to register via the information service. This way, the Kingdom of the Netherlands can have an overview of who and how many people are in the country to stay informed of any escalations and provide assistance, for example, if there are opportunities to leave Haiti.
What has been done so far?
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom made contact by phone contact with Dutch citizens residing in Haiti. This effort indicated that a limited number of Dutch citizens are in Haiti, and so far, they have received requests for assistance.
On March 5, 2024, the Kingdom of the Netherlands issued a negative travel advisory for Haiti and advised Dutch citizens to leave Haiti. On March 7, registered Dutch citizens received a message.
Please be aware that the Kingdom of the Netherlands does not have an embassy in Haiti. The Dutch Embassy in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic, provides all services for Dutch citizens in Haiti, with the support of the Honorary Consul of Haiti in Port-au-Prince.
