Youthpreneur program certificate ceremony

This is an old post.

ORANJESTAD - On October 10, the Department of Economic Affairs (DAECI), through its IDEA unit, presented certificates for the Youthpreneur program.

The Christmas workshop series aims to provide young persons aged 12 to 17 with the skills they need to grow as entrepreneurs. The courses were held during the holiday season.

The youth gained knowledge on creating a business strategy, considering potential investors, and—above all—figuring out their target customer base and how best to reach them with their goods or services.

Business education is fundamental to help prepare the generation for the future. "It is never too early to install this knowledge," stated Minister of Economic Affairs, Communications, and Sustainable Geoffrey Wever. The minister handed over the certificates, mentioning that the hope is that this will be the first of many more diplomas, whether from school or courses, that will continue to help young people develop and possibly become successful entrepreneurs.

Minister Wever thanked Mrs. Judella Trim, Mrs. Louella Croes, and the director of DAECI, Sra. Maria Dijkhoff-Pita, for their continued commitment to the program and wished all the young people much success in their business future.
