Workshop “Silver Entrepreneurship Workshop" was well attended.
ORANJESTAD—The Department of Economic Affairs, Commerce, and Industry, through its unit of Initiative for Development for Aruban Business (IDEA), organized the 'Silver Entrepreneurship Workshop' on 9 and 10 April 2025.
This workshop was for all (pre-)pensioners who wish to use their career and life experience in their business.
The following professional speakers presented the following informative, educational, and interesting topics:
- Neville Thodé presented the topic of 'Social Media and Branding.' During this session, the participants learned how to brand their product or service on social media such as Facebook and Instagram.
- Elthon Lampe, director of the automobile company 'Activated Power,' presented the topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI). During this section, the participants had the opportunity to explore the world of AI and learn how to manage it in their business.
- Jeremy Croes, owner of 'Future Fit Technologies,' presented the topic of crypto investing (crypto. The participants learned more about digital currencies, like Bitcoin and the blockchain platform.
- The last day of the workshop was the network session, where the participants had the opportunity to introduce themselves and elaborate on their life situation, such as how they stand and how they would like to move forward with the business they already have or would like to open.
IDEA organized its first workshop, "Silver Entrepreneurship Workshop for the Retired or Soon to Be Retired," for the first time in 2019, and this is the 5th time it organized this workshop. During this last workshop, 32 people participated, some in all five workshops specially designed for people 60 and older.
The workshops took place at the Department of Economic Affairs.
IDEA is pleased with the workshop feedback and the good comments received from its participants. The workshop was interactive, with tremendous presentations by all the speakers.
Most of their workshops are free and dedicated to everyone who wants to plan, launch, manage, or expand their business.
