WEB Aruba N.V. and Seven Seas Water Group have signed an agreement for the construction of SWRO Plant #3

This is an old post.

ORANJESTAD - On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, executives from WEB Aruba N.V. and Seven Seas Water Group signed a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) agreement.

Present during this signing ceremony for the construction of the third Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) plant, which will contribute to a minimum of 16,500 cubic meters of drinking water per day, was Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes

The new facility (SWRO-3) is part of WEB's long-term plan and the Water Road Map to meet the ongoing demand for water while maintaining a reliable water supply. The new installation will replace the current temporary water production facility. The SWRO3 installation will be built on existing WEB land and operational by mid-2026 operational by mid-2026. This project is a significant achievement for both WEB and Aruba, as it will significantly optimize water production capacity, ensuring that it meets the demand for quality drinking water for our citizens.

Possible future reductions in water prices

According to the Prime Minister, this project will lead Aruba in a more sustainable direction and guarantee sufficient water for our island. It will increase confidence in WEB and may ultimately lead to water price reduction, as the new installation is less dependent on heavy fuel oil, which affects water production costs.

These projects guarantee the availability of high-quality, affordable, and reliable water.
