Tuberculosis cases in KIA pose no public health threat.
ORANJESTAD - The registration of tuberculosis (TB) patients in Aruba's Correctional Facility (KIA) is not an uncommon occurrence.
The Department of Public Health (DVG), with the KIA physician and a pulmonologist, is appropriately managing this condition.
To provide information regarding the tuberculosis cases recently reported in the media, DVG informs that all cases are known by the Infectious Diseases Division of DVG and are under supervision and treatment in collaboration with KIA. In accordance with infectious disease treatment guidelines, in this case, DVG is providing treatment according to protocol to all affected individuals.
