The border with Venezuela remains closed until April 2025.

ORANJESTAD - The border with Venezuela has been closed since 2019, when the Venezuelan government unilaterally closed it.

In May 2023, the maritime border was reopened based on negotiations between the authorities of Aruba and Venezuela. 
Internal meetings have been taking place for some time to prepare for the reopening of the aerial border to ensure a safe and responsible reopening.

In the meantime, an impasse has arisen regarding Nicolás Maduro's recognition as the elected president in the last election. For this reason, the closure of the border with Venezuela will be extended for, at least, another four months.
