Swift Distribution Aruba and Enseñansa pa Empleo join forces to facilitate the Introduction to Hairdressing course.

This is an old post.

ORANJESTAD - Swift Distribution Aruba, in collaboration with Enseñansa pa Empleo (EPE) and renowned professional stylist Roberto Avalo, announces the launch of an innovative hairdressing course.

The course trains participants with the essential skills necessary to enter today's job market in the hairdressing sector.

Swift Distribution and the Education Center want to continue supporting professional stylists in Aruba. Many professionals have emerged from Swift Distribution Aruba's Education Center. For Swift Distributions Aruba, it is imperative to continue investing in beauty education here.

Looking at the role of Swift Distribution Aruba in the world of beauty, many people who do not have the basics in the beauty world have shown their interest in basic education and thus started from scratch. Due to the interest shown, Swift Distribution Aruba met with Enseñansa pa Empleo (EPE) to make this course a reality. For its part, Enseñansa pa Empleo (EPE) has also shown interest in starting a new faculty. In this way, they agreed to start with this beautiful project.

Extensive experience

Roberto Avalo has been a professional stylist for more than 12 years and currently works as a professional artist for L'Oréal Professionnel. L'Oréal Professionnel has been an international brand in the market for more than 115 years, with great influence in the Caribbean, and Aruba is no exception. This opportunity is ideal for all those who want to develop in the hairdressing field. The course lasts 24 lessons over 12 weeks, i.e., two lessons per week. During the class, students will learn to develop themselves in all the most significant aspects of the beauty world.

The course curriculum will cover the following:

  • Basic principles of hairdressing;
  • Introduction to hair care;
  • Bleaching (bleaching);
  • Colorimetry (the science of coloring);
  • Styling.

By completing the first educational level of Teaching for Employment (EPE), the student will be able to become part of the beauty world as an assistant to those who are more experienced in this world. Milady Book, the American cosmetics book from which all professional stylists learn, supports the course.

Increase your opportunity

"Teaching for Employment offers courses designed to rehabilitate and provide opportunities for those who wish to learn more, grow in their profession, or develop in new areas," commented Sabine de Groot, acting director of EPE. This course is a collaboration with Swift Distribution Aruba and L'Oréal Professionnel. EPE is constantly looking for ways to offer training that supports the job market and benefits people interested in expanding their knowledge.

The "Introduction to Hairdressing" course will start on September 10th, take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and end at the end of November. The course's language is Papiamento and Spanish, with a few words in English. The cost of the course is Afl. 500.00 (Afl. 50.00 for registration and Afl. 450.00 for the course).

This course will stimulate the job market, officially certify existing professionals, and generate new perspectives in the beauty industry in Aruba. Education for Employment thanks Mitch Almary and Cristine Hintz of Swift Distribution Aruba and Roberto Avalo of L'Oréal Professionnel for making this collaboration possible.
