Students from The Hague University of Applied Sciences and the OGM faculty at the University of Aruba meet on the theme of "Kingdom Relations."
ORANJESTAD – Students of the Organization, Governance, and Management (OGM) faculty from the University of Aruba and The Hague University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands had a productive discussion on January 21, 2025, to exchange knowledge about "Kingdom Relations."
Over the past three years, the group has continued to grow. Therefore, the University of Aruba hosted this year's meeting. Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes noted that Dutch students are well-prepared and have extensive theoretical knowledge about Kingdom Relations. However, in Aruba, they receive practical and real-world information on the subject. Organization, Governance & Management (OGM) students at the University of Aruba were invited this year.
During the meeting, several professionals were invited to give presentations, including Ms. Sheila Maduro and Ms. Vanessa Scholing from the Department of Education, Ms. Ronella Croes from ATA, and Mr. Derrick Werleman from the Department of Finance. Additionally, there was a panel that answered critical yet substantive questions.
The prime minister concluded the afternoon with a speech titled "From Crisis to Prosperity," which reflected on her more than seven years in power. She addressed the financial crisis in 2017, the pandemic in 2020, and the agreement reached in 2024 to reduce the interest on the Covid debt to the Netherlands based on a Kingdom Law. The topics the Prime Minister covered during her speech included declining unemployment rates, tourism, and economic recovery.
The Prime Minister expressed her gratitude to The Hague University of Applied Sciences for the excellent working relationship over the past years and the constructive way they have worked together.
