Slaughterhouse (Veterinary Service) reminds the community of their schedule for the busy November and December season.
ORANJESTAD - Veterinary Service reminds all persons who want to sacrifice a goat, meat, or pig for consumption must do so at the slaughterhouse.
Slaughtering animals at home is illegal and can pose risks to human health. Anyone who wants to make use of slaughterhouse service to sacrifice an animal during November and December 2024 can do so from Monday to Thursday, morning starting Monday, November 11 to Wednesday, December 18, 2024, and December 2024. The slaughterhouse will resume operations on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
Please note that slaughter is only possible with an appointment. This is to prevent the spread of influenza and coronavirus, plan the killing more systematically, and comply with hygiene laws. Be on time for the appointment. You must make a new appointment if you are not on time. Without an appointment, you will not get service.
After paying the administration, you must pick up the meat the day it is slaughtered. There is no meat storage facility at the slaughterhouse. The deadline for animal slaughter is Wednesday, December 18, 2024. Therefore, do not wait until the last minute to make your appointment in time.
