Resilient Lady of Virgin Voyages Cruise Line Arrives in Aruba for the First Time

ORANJESTAD—The cruise ship Resilient Lady of the Virgin Voyages line arrived in Aruba for the first time on January 6, 2025.

This new cruise ship is part of Virgin Voyages’ fleet, which includes the Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady, both of which made their inaugural visits to Aruba in 2024. The Resilient Lady visit signifies the growing presence of this cruise line in the Caribbean and Aruba.

Resilient Lady was received with great enthusiasm at Aruba’s port, marking a significant moment in Aruba’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its position as a premier cruise destination. During the traditional plaque exchange ceremony, attendees included Andrew Eglin, the general manager of the cruise ship, and Nicolas Sunderland, the captain. Also present were Ronella Croes, CEO of A.T.A., Patrick Melchiors, Manager of Destination Services, Marc Figueroa, CEO of APA, and Mario Arends, CCO of APA, along with representatives from Port Agency Maduro & Sons, Mariela Fingal, and Griselda Gomez.

This ceremony is a traditional and symbolic event between a port/destination and a cruise line, marking a special or inaugural visit. It serves as a goodwill gesture and mutual appreciation between the cruise line, port authorities, tourism authorities, and other relevant local entities.
Resilient Lady made her first formal visit in May 2023 to other destinations. With a capacity of 2,770 passengers, this cruise ship strengthened Aruba’s position as one of the principal cruise ports in the Caribbean. In 2025, Resilient Lady will return to Aruba on the following dates: January 27, February 3, February 17, March 17, and April 6.

Virgin Voyages continues to expand its Caribbean routes, with Aruba becoming an essential part of its itinerary. The cruise line began visiting Aruba in 2024 with the Sunsets in the Lesser Antilles and Aruban Sights & Antiguan Nights routes, which include Aruba as one of their destinations.
