Renewal Carbon Accreditation Level 3 Airport Aruba

ORANJESTAD – Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) recertifies for the Airport Carbon Accreditation Level 3 – Optimization for its 3rd consecutive year.

Airport Council International (ACI)’s Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) program is the only institutionally endorsed global carbon management certification program for airports. It provides airports with a unique common framework and tool for active carbon management with measurable results. The ACA program consists of 7 levels of certification: Mapping’, Reduction’, Optimization’, Neutrality’, Transformation’, Transition’, and Level 5 (Topmost level)’. Through each level of certification, the airport industry can effectively reduce its carbon footprint and increase efficiency through lowered energy consumption, shared expertise, knowledge exchange, and better communication of the results.

By recertifying for ACA Level 3, Aruba Airport continues to strengthen and engage its third parties in carbon footprint management and expand on scope three emissions. Third parties include airlines and various service providers, such as independent ground handlers, catering companies, fueling companies, and others working on the airport premises.

In alignment with AAA’s vision, sustainability goals, and objectives, Aruba Airport will continue focusing its sustainability efforts on reducing its carbon emissions through proper carbon management, stakeholder engagement, collecting, auditing, and reporting data, and developing a strategic direction with actions in preparation for the following levels of ACA.
