Preventive frisking Carnival 71
ORANJESTAD - The Public Prosecution Service (OM) and the Aruba Police Force (KPA) hereby inform that the police will be conducting preventive frisking for the possession of firearms during several Carnival activities.
In San Nicolas, the authorization for preventive frisking covers Jouvert Morning ( February 15), the Children's Carnival ( February 23), Parada di Luz (27 and 28 February), and the Grand Parade ( March 1). In Oranjestad, it covers the Children's Carnival ( February 16), the Lighting Parade (February 22 and 23), and the Grand Parade ( March 2).
As part of the action, the police have the authority to stop people and search their clothing, to demand that bags and packaging be opened and searched, and to search cars and other means of transport for illegal possession of firearms. The examining magistrate authorized the police to do so at the request of the Public Prosecution Service.
Preventive frisking during Jouvert (San Nicolas):
- February 15, 2025, from 03:00 to 12:30.
During the Children's Carnival (San Nicolas):
- February 23, 2025, from 13:00 to 18:30.
During Parada di Luz (San Nicolas):
- February 27, 2025, from 20:00 to February 28, 2025 at 02:30.
During the Grand Parade (San Nicolas):
- March 1, 2025, from 11:00 to 19:30.
Preventive frisking during the Children's Carnival (Oranjestad):
- February 16, 2025, from 13:00 to 18:30.
During Lighting Parade (Oranjestad):
- February 22, 2025, to February 23, 2025, from 8:00 PM to 3:30 AM.
During the Grand Parade (Oranjestad):
- March 2, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
