Police will check for car parking in areas in San Nicolas where it is not allowed.

ORANJESTAD - San Nicolas police are planning different projects to increase the safety of pedestrians and motorists.

In this context, prevention and safety will begin with the first project to control the illegal parking of motor vehicles in the streets of San Nicolas that pose a danger for pedestrians, cyclists, or tourists to walk and admire San Nicolas. The control will start on B. van der Veen van Zeppenfelstraat with a two-month grace period. It will raise awareness of businesses and those who park their vehicles where it is not allowed. The merchant will also receive information about places in the neighborhood where the customer can park their vehicle.

Together with D.O.W., there will be signs and information about where to park a car. These signs are in different languages for both tourists and locals. It is a prevention control so that all pedestrians and cyclists can use the area to walk safely.

The recommended parking lots are:

  • The Arubus parking lot;
  • the Refineria di Aruba (RDA) office;
  • near San Nicolas Police Station;
  • Santa Theresita Center Square;
  • San Nicolas National Library.

The Aruba Police Force urges our community to park their vehicles in the recommended areas.
The police will start giving fines in January 2025.
