Opening of the exhibition, “The Thin Line of the Horizon.”

ORANJESTAD— On Friday, April 11, at the National Library of Aruba (BNA), Prime Minister Mr. Mike Eman, in charge of the Ministry of Culture, and Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Gerlien Croes opened the exhibition "The Thin Line of the Horizon."

Many art lovers attended this painting exhibition, a unique and different exhibition with the participation of several artists under the guidance of Elvis Lopez.

"We are inspired to develop a fresh strategy for enhancing our art and culture when we take the time to reflect, think, and examine the arts. Every artwork, including drawings, makes us think about how we relate to the land and wildlife. The prime minister said, "It goes for the questions that art raises in our hearts, not for surface-level beauty."

For Elvis Lopez, the works reaffirm the efforts of Atelier'89 to promote art in our community. Prime Minister Eman thanked Atelier'89 for their persistence in continuing to elevate art on our island. During the opening night, the ministers received a tour of the exhibition guided by Nuris Lampe, one of the ten artists who participated in the workshop. Musician Vivian Lampe gave a beautiful piano recital. Artist Kien Sang Lie Kwie presented a painting highlighting the license plate A-1961, the birth year of Prime Minister Eman, and also of the artist. The exhibition is open to the public at the National Library of Aruba in Oranjestad, and the entrance is free.
