ORANJESTAD - The Labor Force Survey 2024 (EFL2024) will be conducted by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), the Department of Labor and Research (DAO), and the Central Bank of Aruba (CBA) starting on January 7, 2025.

Purpose and Contents Workforce Survey 2024
The EFL2024 aims to get a detailed and current view of Aruba's labor market. It will also collect information on the characteristics of people who participate and those who do not participate in the labor market. In this way, they can make an in-depth analysis of the composition of Aruba's labor market and compile essential indicators, such as the employment and unemployment rate in Aruba, the degree of participation of men and women in the labor market, and the level of education of those who are employed and not employed.
Telephone survey
According to the homes that participated in the 2020 Census and the most recent EFLs, they would prefer to continue working with CBS surveys and anticipate hearing from a surveyor or surveyors. The survey team will call residences between 10.00 and 20.30 hrs on weekdays and weekends.
The EFL2024 questionnaire
At the beginning of the questionnaire, the surveyor will ask basic questions of everyone in the household. Specific questions will follow about the workforce. These questions will only be asked of people 15 years and older. The reason is that according to the principles of the International Labor Organization (ILO), all persons 15 years and above are considered part of the country's labor force. All persons aged 15 or over must participate in the survey, whether employed, unemployed or not actively involved in the labor market (for example, because they are children going to school or retired older adults). This way, we can get a complete view of who is part of the Aruba labor force. The questionnaire contains questions on topics of importance to the labor market, including education, function, employment sector, working hours, etc. This year the survey includes some extra questions related to job content, job growth opportunities, and workplace safety.
Privacy
The research team will process information and publish it only in aggregate form. The added information will help those in charge of stipulating and implementing labor policies more effectively and based on current data from Aruba. The information is useful for those in the private sector, in the education and research sector, and the public of the most recent developments in the labor market of Aruba.
The research team (CBS, DAO, and CBA) guarantees the privacy of each household and each person participating in the EFL2024. The information collected will contribute to giving a complete view of current developments in the labor market of Aruba. Therefore, the participation of every household and every person approached by our team of surveyors is essential!
