Information session with the chicken-egg sector to increase local production

ORANJESTAD – The Minister of Economic Affairs, Communication, and Sustainable Development, Geoffrey Wever, met with current and prospective business owners on October 22 to discuss growing Aruba's commercial chicken egg production. 

This educational session discussed how to overcome the various obstacles that traders encounter, including the extension of land. The Department of Economic Affairs, the Department of Infrastructure and Planning, and Santa Rosa were among the various parties at this conference. 

Ministry of Economic Affairs' policy aims to double last year's figures and reach 1.4 million units by 2026, considering the growth potential of this industry. 

Twenty-four business people and those aspiring to become entrepreneurs expressed interest in commercial chicken egg production in Aruba following the announcement of an Open Call on September 29.  

During the informative session, entrepreneurs had the opportunity to dialogue with stakeholders to bring about solutions to increase the commercial production of eggs in Aruba. The session covered various topics, among other things, requesting a business permit to the need for more land to increase the commercial production of chicken eggs in Aruba. 

Additionally, Qredits Aruba was present to present the "Agri Fund" and "Agri-Business Academy" application procedures to merchants needing funding.
