Governor receives members Foundation Ban Lanta y Planta - Trees for Aruba
ORANJESTAD - On Thursday afternoon, October 24, 2024, the Governor of Aruba, His Excellency Alfonso Boekhoudt, received at Cas Ceremonial di Gobernador Ms. Anita Aerts and Mr. Roy Maduro of the Ban Lanta y Planta - Trees for Aruba Foundation.
During this visit the Governor received a specimen of the Mahawa (Ficus Brittonii), which has become very rare on Aruba. The Mahawa will get a place in the garden of Cas Ceremonial.
The mission of the Ban Lanta y Planta Foundation is to (re)forest Aruba, create awareness of the need for conservation, promote the protection of trees and provide education and information.
