Celebration of 60 Years of Memory with Trio Los Arubeños and Remembering Hubert (Lio) Booi at the National Library of Aruba
ORANJESTAD - 'For a good start 2025' and honoring '60 years of memories with Trio Los Arubeños' will be the first 2025 event held at the National Library of Aruba in Oranjestad, this Thursday, January 9, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m.
In cooperation with Astrid Britten, National Library of Aruba; Siegfried Dumfries, Aruba Department of Culture; and Mirto Laclé, Cultural Manager, will present an exceptional evening with 'Tribute to Trio Los Arubeños' and 'Remembering Hubert (Lio) Booi.' It will show a multidisciplinary program focusing on music, singing, recitation, culture, literature, and education in general. The members of Trio Los Arubeños, Rey Lampe, Fortunato (Catey) Werleman, and Mario Croes, are musical and cultural ambassadors of Aruba and they will proudly share with the people of Aruba the celebration of their 60 years of existence as Trio Los Arubeños.
They will perform, particularly in Papiamento, contributing to Aruba's culture in the musical field. In 'Remembering Hubert (Lio) Booi', they will also commemorate his life and ten years of death (December 21, 2014-2024). Antonieta Ras-Booi and Hubert Ras will share and perform some songs. There will be no shortage of organ music, as 'Mi Dulcita' by Hubert Ras and Peterangelo Ras will perform.
The organizers will give recognition to some persons who have stood out and promoted the culture and folklore of Aruba, among others Mr. Leoncio 'Maiky' Croes (1930), legend and musical stronghold of Aruba. Coro La Escala, under the direction of Hector (Chichi) Perez, will delight the public with some songs. A Grupo di Dande will be present to wish everyone a good start to the New Year 2025.
